We've received word that the State Charter School Board has voted during their monthly meeting to approve our final application (among others) and recommend our charter for approval to the State Board of Education.

The Academy Board completed our presentation to the State Charter School Board on April 23rd. The presentation went well, with a few suggestions that we are currently following up on and need to have some information to them on by May 2nd.

 We won't know for sure if we are getting approved until their regular May meeting. I've attached a copy of our presentation.

Eleven copies of our initial application (615K PDF) were submitted to the Utah State Charter School Office on February 1st in accordance with the rules for applying to open for the 2008-2009 school year. We also provided a courtesy copy of our initial application to the Iron County School District. We are currently waiting for our initial reader scores and comments. We anticipate getting those back from the Charter School Office sometime after February 23rd.
