About Gateway
“Our mission is to provide children an individualized education emphasizing practical life skills and demonstrations of student learning in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.”
Gateway Preparatory Academy provides Iron County students from Kindergarten to 8th grade an education that focuses on individual skills, abilities, and needs.
Established in 2008, we provide an individualized experience focused on student growth while preparing students to be productive members of the community.
Our strengths include our child centered approach through the application of a Montessori philosophy and method as well as a focus on the arts and technology.
Our Pledge
As learners at Gateway Preparatory Academy, we pledge to act with caring; integrity and purpose, to self-govern and be resourceful. We commit to be actively engaged in learning, respect our learning environment, and the learning process of others.

During Back-to-School Day, we got to capture the sweetest moment: mom showing her new kindergartener a tile she created back in junior high with Ms. McMullen! To make it even more special, both mom and dad met right here at Gateway years ago.

Exciting News from the Gateway Cafe!
We have some exciting news here at the Gateway Cafe!
We are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with Domino's Pizza to bring our students some delicious pizza!
Starting Friday, September 4th, and continuing every Friday, students will have the choice between:
🧀Cheese Pizza
🍕 Pepperoni Pizza
Our local Domino's will be making the pizzas fresh and by hand, and they will be delivered to our school HOT and ready to enjoy!
Even better, the pizza provided through this partnership will meet all National School Lunch Program food requirements, so students can enjoy a tasty meal while still receiving a meal that meets school nutrition standards.
We are so excited to begin this partnership with Domino's and bring a fun new option to our school lunch menu! We hope all of our students love this new program as much as we do!

School Hotline Reporting
Gateway Preparatory Academy is committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical practices. A hotline is maintained by the Internal Audit Department of the Utah State Board of Education, and it is a venue for citizens, educators, employees, and other stakeholders to request audits or report concerns related to any of the agencies governed by or provided resources by the Utah State Board of Education.

Complaints or concerns can be filed by following the process as outlined here. Hotline complaints go directly to the State Board of Education Internal Audit Department and may be referred back to the LEA.
Gateway Preparatory Academy also encourages anyone concerned to reach out to the school administration when appropriate. All complaints are handled with discretion, and any individual submitting a concern may remain anonymous through the USBE hotline system.
