Gateway Preparatory Academy provides Iron County students from Kindergarten to 8th grade an education that focuses on individual skills, abilities, and needs.
Established in 2008, we provide an individualized experience focused on student growth while preparing students to be productive members of the community.
Our strengths include our child centered approach through the application of a Montessori philosophy and method as well as a focus on the arts and technology.
Our Pledge
As learners at Gateway Preparatory Academy, we pledge to act with caring; integrity and purpose, to self-govern and be resourceful. We commit to be actively engaged in learning, respect our learning environment, and the learning process of others.

Meet "Pebbles"—the mushroom our students have been carefully nurturing in the classroom. After watching Pebbles grow day by day, it was finally time for the harvest. 🧺
The students took their hard work to the kitchen to prepare Mushroom, Bacon, and Thyme pizzas. From studying the growth process to practicing their culinary skills, it was a beautiful (and delicious!) full-circle experience. 👩🍳👨🍳

We love seeing our former students soar! Huge congratulations to Rachel Johnson for her incredible recent achievements. Not only did she graduate high school a year and a half early, but she also just took 1st Place in her SLC HOSA competition! 🏆
Rachel is currently finishing up her Medical Assistant program and has her sights set on working with pediatric patients. We have no doubt she will be an amazing asset to the medical field. 🩺👶

School Hotline Reporting
Gateway Preparatory Academy is committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical practices. A hotline is maintained by the Internal Audit Department of the Utah State Board of Education, and it is a venue for citizens, educators, employees, and other stakeholders to request audits or report concerns related to any of the agencies governed by or provided resources by the Utah State Board of Education.

Complaints or concerns can be filed by following the process as outlined here. Hotline complaints go directly to the State Board of Education Internal Audit Department and may be referred back to the LEA.
Gateway Preparatory Academy also encourages anyone concerned to reach out to the school administration when appropriate. All complaints are handled with discretion, and any individual submitting a concern may remain anonymous through the USBE hotline system.
