About Gateway
“Our mission is to provide children an individualized education emphasizing practical life skills and demonstrations of student learning in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.”
Gateway Preparatory Academy provides Iron County students from Kindergarten to 8th grade an education that focuses on individual skills, abilities, and needs.
Established in 2008, we provide an individualized experience focused on student growth while preparing students to be productive members of the community.
Our strengths include our child centered approach through the application of a Montessori philosophy and method as well as a focus on the arts and technology.
Our Pledge
As learners at Gateway Preparatory Academy, we pledge to act with caring; integrity and purpose, to self-govern and be resourceful. We commit to be actively engaged in learning, respect our learning environment, and the learning process of others.

They spent the week diving into classes, discovering fresh ideas, and sharing plenty of laughs. They also got to celebrate two incredible milestones at the Gala: 75 years of SNAU and 80 years of the National School Lunch Program! 🎉
🌟 A huge shoutout to our nutrition director, Cindy! She stepped up as a featured presenter at the conference, sharing her expertise and best practices with school nutrition colleagues from all across the state.
They’re coming home inspired, energized, and so excited to bring these fresh ideas straight to our students' plates! ❤️🍽️

We are over the moon! 🌙 Our very own school library was featured in a national video for Perma-Bound Books! 🎬🍿
Last year, their sales rep dropped by, absolutely fell in love with our library space, and snapped some photos. Fast forward to now, and they used our beautiful library to help launch their awesome new Mandalorian release video! ⚔️🌌
We always knew our library was a magical place for our students to explore, but now the whole world gets to see it, too! A huge shoutout to our librarian, who makes our library such an incredible, welcoming hub for our readers every single day. 🦖❤️

School Hotline Reporting
Gateway Preparatory Academy is committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical practices. A hotline is maintained by the Internal Audit Department of the Utah State Board of Education, and it is a venue for citizens, educators, employees, and other stakeholders to request audits or report concerns related to any of the agencies governed by or provided resources by the Utah State Board of Education.

Complaints or concerns can be filed by following the process as outlined here. Hotline complaints go directly to the State Board of Education Internal Audit Department and may be referred back to the LEA.
Gateway Preparatory Academy also encourages anyone concerned to reach out to the school administration when appropriate. All complaints are handled with discretion, and any individual submitting a concern may remain anonymous through the USBE hotline system.
