About Gateway
“Our mission is to provide children an individualized education emphasizing practical life skills and demonstrations of student learning in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.”
Gateway Preparatory Academy provides Iron County students from Kindergarten to 8th grade an education that focuses on individual skills, abilities, and needs.
Established in 2008, we provide an individualized experience focused on student growth while preparing students to be productive members of the community.
Our strengths include our child centered approach through the application of a Montessori philosophy and method as well as a focus on the arts and technology.
Our Pledge
As learners at Gateway Preparatory Academy, we pledge to act with caring; integrity and purpose, to self-govern and be resourceful. We commit to be actively engaged in learning, respect our learning environment, and the learning process of others.

Club Team!
With our last day of afterschool arriving tomorrow, May 14, we have to give a massive shoutout to the Boys & Girls Club of America team here at GPA.
They have been an incredible backbone for our school this year!
From supporting our teachers and students daily after school to cheering in the front row at theater
performances and the middle school dance, they truly did it all. Between the family events and their constant dedication, they've made this year unforgettable.

Our library is sending out an urgent transmission from a galaxy far, far away!
All library books were due back on Thursday, May 7th, and many items are still missing somewhere in the outer reaches of backpacks, bedrooms, lockers, and starships. As we near the end of the school year, we need all library materials returned immediately so we can prepare our collection for next year’s young Jedi readers.
Please help your student search carefully for any overdue library books and return them to the library as soon as possible. Any books that are lost, damaged, or not returned will be charged to the student’s account. Students with unpaid library fines will not be able to check out library books next school year until the balance has been cleared and balance is restored to the galaxy.
We appreciate your help in making sure our books safely return from their intergalactic adventures.

School Hotline Reporting
Gateway Preparatory Academy is committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical practices. A hotline is maintained by the Internal Audit Department of the Utah State Board of Education, and it is a venue for citizens, educators, employees, and other stakeholders to request audits or report concerns related to any of the agencies governed by or provided resources by the Utah State Board of Education.

Complaints or concerns can be filed by following the process as outlined here. Hotline complaints go directly to the State Board of Education Internal Audit Department and may be referred back to the LEA.
Gateway Preparatory Academy also encourages anyone concerned to reach out to the school administration when appropriate. All complaints are handled with discretion, and any individual submitting a concern may remain anonymous through the USBE hotline system.
